My buddy and I had Lake Fork on our bucket list, and I chose Captain J after reading the reviews, so I wanted to share our experience for other anglers. Two of us fished, and we both caught personal bests. From start to finish, it was the best charter I’ve been on. I learned a lot, and I’m still riding the rush from landing my PB and watching my buddy catch his—a solid 7.25-pounder on his birthday weekend. Thank you, Captain Jay. We’ll be back soon. God bless.

The fish weren’t biting, but our guide Jay worked tirelessly to get us on a bite. After talking to other anglers, it seemed no one had much luck that day. That’s why it’s called “fishing,” not catching! We’ll definitely be back and book with Jay again.

This was a bucket-list trip for me—I’ve been reading about this lake for years. We booked with Jay hoping to find a few big ones late in the season, but the bite was slow that morning. We covered a lot of water and tried different baits and lures, with several light hits but not the strong strikes you expect when they’re feeding. Even so, the trip was absolutely worth it, and it’s close enough for us to return soon. I’ll stay in touch with Jay for updates as we move into cooler weather and the fall bite. Great trip overall, and I’d recommend Jay to anyone—he’s experienced and works hard the entire time.
